Design 2713 Predacious

Predacious was built of high tech composites by New England Boatworks and launched in 2006. Her owner was moving up out of a large production Down East style boat and wanted enough space for his family in a similar package, and speed to commute out to his Long Island home.

The boat is powered by twin Caterpillar 12-cylinder c30 diesel engines generating 1,550 hp each for a top speed of 35 knots and a cruise speed of 27 knots. The engines are coupled to ZF "Supershift" V-drives via jack shafts and turn ZF custom 38" diameter, 5-bladed propellers in deep tunnels for draft reduction.

Extensive sound proofing and vibration dampening allows normal conversation inside while rocketing along at 35 knots.
