Design 2152 6 Meter Pacemaker

A blog reader asked us to post some information about this design. Pacemaker was designed for John Taylor to compete in the 1972 Australian American Challenge. She was built by William Barnett of Australia and launched in 1972. I confess I pinched the image above from the North American Six-Meter Association website so thank you to whoever took this shot.

It's clear from the correspondence that the owner had a lot of experience sailing Toogie V, design #2032, and had a lot of input such as suggesting the elimination of the trim tab, a smaller headsail and even hull shape and Olin seemed to agree with his comments and as such they were incorporated into the design you see here.

The boat is now located in the Puget Sound area, has been renamed Hooroo and is undergoing restoration.

Here are the plans.

Principal Dimensions
LOA 33'-4"
LWL 23' -11"
Beam 5'-6"
Draft 6'-2"
Displacement 9,572 lbs
Ballast 7,326 lbs
Sail Area 486 sq ft
